Hello Reader Hope you are well. First of all, I would like to apologise for a mistake in my last e-mail with Easy Easter Themed Bakes I sent on Sunday 22nd March where I said that Easter was only a week away where in fact it was two! I promise I'm not the one to wish time away and was more than happy to be put straight (thank you Liz βΊοΈ). Anyway, as I'm writing this very e-mail Easter Sunday is little over a week away so still plenty of time to check out some of those bakes. Today's recipe might be another one to add to the list of Easter or perhaps Spring themed bakes. It's quite a retro classic which I have given a little chocolate orange makeover - Chocolate Orange Butterfly Cakes. The recipe itself is based on good old fairy cakes which had a little bit of a glow up - both flavour and looks wise. As mentioned, I went for one of my favourite chocolate orange flavour combos, keeping sponge orange only with chocolate orange flavour in the buttercream. There is also a little optional surprise inside for those who like to live dangerously (no not really π). It's something subtle yet really special, something for real orange connoisseurs π€©. I must say I do love how cute and pretty they are as I'm not usually the one for pretty bakes (too heavy handed π). Even my two teenagers who don't really care about the looks as long as it's edible and tasty, stopped and acknowledged these dainty little things before devouring them. They were quite impressed and even murmured something complimentary regarding my efforts. I do hope you enjoy the recipe and have a lovely Easter whatever you're doing. I'm taking a little reset break next week but will be back in your inboxes in early April. Speak soon. π Jo
βοΈ Something Savoury βοΈI made this delicious pie after a while earlier this week and thought I might include it in this newsletter. Who doesn't love a pie after all. Enjoy!
PS1. Please do consider leaving a review on any of my recipes that you've tried. Your reviews and comments on the blog help me a lot and I know that other readers find them helpful as well so if you can spare few minutes I would be super grateful! π Also your review might be featured in my newsletter under Reader's Reviews of the Week βοΈ PS2. If you'd rather send me an e-mail to let me know how you got on with any of my recipes that's great too! Feel free to attach a photograph of your creation as well! βΊοΈ |
I create simple recipes in the hope of feeding my family nourishing, wholesome, seasonal and mostly plant centred food with room for lots of homemade bread and other bakes. Cooking from scratch with little effort is motto I live by. Come along for a ride!
Hello Friends! I hope you're well! Easter Sunday is exactly a week away and so it must be time for a spot of Easter baking. I've got plenty of simple recipes to satisfy your sweet tooth and as you'll notice mini eggs are making frequent appearance as well. Unfortunately, vegan mini eggs I recommend in my recipes are no longer available (such a shame) but you can swap them for any chocolates/sweets you like. I also found these vegan mini eggs by Mummy Meegz (available in the UK) but I haven't...
Hello Reader Would you believe it's already Friday again! It seems like time has been using some sort of fast forward button recently. Anyway, I hope you are well and those of you in the UK have been basking in the sun this week. For me the spring is definitely here as this week marked my first load of laundry dried outside. As they say it's the little things in life, small pleasures right? π But it's time for this week's brand new recipe.... EASY GARLIC FLATBREAD. I love making flatbreads...
Hello Friends! I hope you're well! With Mother's Day on Sunday here in the UK, I thought I would share few recipes you might consider making to celebrate your mum, grandma, friend, sister, carer or any special woman in your life. Mother's Day in the UK keeps "moving" every year just like Easter and always falls on the 4th Sunday of Lent which this year happens to be 15th March. I know that for those of you in Australia or the US Mother's Day is not until the second Sunday in May and in Poland...
